Importance of Directions

EAST This is the direction of Sunrise pointing to the fire element. This is the direction which affects father or men at home. If this direction is completely covered, the head of the house always remains in problems.
WEST The West or rear reflects the wind (Vaayu) element. Its effect is unstable or unsteady and therefore money (Lakshmi) remains unstable when home or shop etc faces West. But this signifies success and achievements also.
NORTH This is the direction representing mother or women in the house. Water (Jal) element is is said to be present in this direction. A house should have empty space in the North direction else the house will be deprived of women. This direction is also considered as the place of Kuber (Lord of money). Having doors and windows in the North leads to wealth, prosperity and economic progress.
SOUTH This direction represents the Earth (Prithvi) element. Its owner is Yam and Yam means destruction. This direction is related to money, happiness and peace. If the plot is South facing, then by increasing the load in South direction and lowering the load in North and East this direction can be made beneficial to some extent.
NORTH – EAST This is the direction between two auspicious directions and hence is considered the place of God. It gives the fruit of Male child. It is extremely harmful to distort or destroy this direction.
SOUTH – EAST Fire element is considered to be present in this direction and this is considered to be the root cause of health. Kitchens are always recommended in this direction.
SOUTH – WEST This direction represents the character of the persons living in the house and should be kept the heaviest for better results. Lighter South-West signifies early death.
NORTH – WEST This direction is considered to be the direction of Air and is the cause of enemies and friends.
